Chassis Modification/Strengthening and Bespoke Fabrication Preptech can offer varying forms of chassis modification, whether in the form of simple seam welding or complete redesign of some chassis components to aid performance or to allow room for other components to fit. With some consultation we can also help with strengthening your car, perhaps a custom strut brace or additional roll cage bars? Often in car preparation you stumble upon complications whereby you require a design and fabrication solution. Whether it's bias box mounting, door cards, transmission tunnel modification or seat mounting bars, we can cater for varying levels of fabrication. Please contact us to discuss the level of fabrication you require. Race Seat/Harness and Roll Cage Installation Safety should never be comprised. The most important components of a competition car build are the protection cell (roll cage) and also very importantly the seat you are sat in. Lots of club level racers often unknowingly install seats themselves in a dangerous manner. At Preptech we spend the time to make sure that a seat is not only mounted safely and professionally but that it is comfortable for the driver. We are also keen to make sure that you have the right harness to suit your application. At Preptech we offer bespoke roll cage fitment for all types of applications. We can offer a MIG welded installation of both bolt in cages and large specification "weld in" cages. Roll cages vary in fitting time from 6 hours to 60 hours and we strive to provide solutions that suit your needs. We can also supply roll cages for customers, often at very competitive prices. Please enquire for more information. Engine Building and Brake/Suspension Upgrades We offer a range of engine building solutions. Whether a "simple" head rebuild or a full rebuild including extraction and installation. We are prepared to arrange collection and delivery of your engine. We can work within sporting regulations to gain as much performance as possible from your engine. In most saloon car race series the cars stem from current or previous road cars that simply are not built to withstand the rigours of the race track. We can offer advice on application, purchasing, installation and set-up of aftermarket race ready brake and suspension solutions. Quite often when building a new track or race vehicle it takes track time and set-up work to discover the optimum damper and spring combinations to suit all driving conditions. Similarly, road car brakes are not designed to cope with the stresses and strains of the constant acceleration and deceleration experienced by a car on the track. Race Car Build Consultancy. Many Preptech customers have had bad experiences in either trying to prepare their own competition vehicles or dealing with ones built by other companies. Understanding budgets and cash flow for a novice can often be daunting. Drawing from our own experiences we have learned the best suppliers and companies to use and have the relevant product knowledge to be able to guide customers to the most suitable solution for them. You need to know you have the best quality component to suit the budget you have in mind. Preptech Racing - Our Involvement in Motorsport. The ethos behind the Preptech race team has always been to offer competitive, affordable racing to passionate, dedicated racers - as such it has always focussed on club level racing and will continue to do so. Most recently, Preptech was heavily involved with the 750MC Stock Hatch and 750MC Formula series. Not only did Preptech enter cars in both series in the 2006/2007 championships, but Preptech also helped prepare 6 other cars for independent entrants in the Stock Hatch series, including full car set-up, shell preparation, suspension set-up, engine build and general consultancy. Going Forward...For 2011, Preptech shall once again be entered in the popular MGCC Trophy Championship racing in Class C in a 1.8 MG ZR 160bhp, as well as providing full race support to two Class C ZR 190bhp customer cars. With three cars now racing under the Preptech banner, Preptech is hoping to grow the team further and, as such, we are interested in hearing from you if you are keen to race in the series, whether on an arrive and drive basis (with Preptech car and full race support), or in your own car with trackside support from Preptech.
